Finally I finish making a "how to make grilled rice ball" post. I could have posted earlier last week, but internet browser keeps on freezing. oh well, here it is and with picture too!
Ingredients
Rice (short grain)
Soy Sauce
Salt
After the rice is finish cooking, add a pinch or two of salt and mix. Then wait about 15 minutes for the rice to cool enough to handle. Salt helps boost the favor of the rice.
Wet your hands with water. This will helps prevent rice from sticking on to your hands while you are shaping them.
Scoop about 1/2 cup rice in your hand, and start tightly forming the rice into any flat shape. Any shapes like stars, heart, triangle... etc. As long as it is flat and can be flip over without falling apart is fine.
You can also eat rice balls plain with pickles here.
If you made way too much rice balls, you can store/freeze it.
Wrap each rice ball individually with a plastic wrap.
Place the rice balls in a freezer bag to prevent freezer burn.
To reheat... Just place the individually wrap rice ball in the microwave for 2 minutes with the plastic wrap on.
Add a little bit of vegetable oil on to your nonstick frying pan, and start grilling your rice balls on medium heat.
After 2-3 minutes, your rice ball should have a little bit of browning. Then you need to flip it over to brown the other side.
After 2-3 minutes, brush the first brown side with soy sauce then flip.
Brush the second brown side with soy sauce then flip, so that both sides have been grilled twice. Once plain, and once with soy sauce.
Enjoy the super crispy outside and super soft and yummy inside.
I might post sometimes this week on how to make california rolls... Maybe make a video on how to make it?
